Fits well with my limited experience. Half a year ago a friend bought a bunch of custom made post-apocalyptic RPG figures, and they were horrible (despite being the highest quality material they had). 3d-printing is probably best limited to terrain for the time being. |

Per unit cost is still expensive, length of time to print too long, and still have the "sedimentary layer" problem requiring a finishing step such as polishing. So, not quite yet--we're probably in the TRS-80 stage of development. |

3D printing seems to work well for vehicles. 1/144 scale Aircraft are popular and paint up really well. I have 3D printed WWII armored vehicles from Shapeways. You can only tell how they were made by close inspection. |

Been thinking of jumping into the game for a bunch of 1/144 scale WWI A/C for Wings of War/Glory. Just need to decide if there is enough detail to make it worth my while. |
