I suddenly realized tonight that I actually enjoy rebasing. (Well, more specifically, the de-basing part.) It's a form of destruction, but it is destruction in order to create something new and better. It is relaxing. It is mostly hand work, not brain work. I don't want to do this all the time, but I don't dread it, either. |

It's a relatively easy way to give an army a "freshen up" |

I've rebased more times than I care to remember! But yes, thinking back, each time has been to accommodate a better set of rules… |

I have never rebased any of my armies. Seems most rules these days don't care as long as both sides are based the same. Since I provide both sides….. Another standard seems to be a 2 x 2 inch base. |

Run this as a poll and see how many agree with you. |

Re-basing is like running on a treadmill. It looks like you're doing something but you're going nowhere. |

Have to agree with Bill. Taking something old and making it new and shiny is great fun. I think I'm about to embark on a trip that involves rebasing all of my DBA type basing for 28mm Persians and Macedonians, into a custom sized L'Art de la Guerre basing scheme. The great thing about providing both sides of a battle, is that you can depart from suggested basing and do your own thing to some degree. |

I have a major 6mm rebasing coming up but that's because I've bought a few collections and want them based like my own. |

We did a survey back in the 1980s. The number one reason given by players at several conventions for not trying new rules or changing rules was the task of having to rebate castings. |

Just took the call from the dentist for root canal. |

Nope, I disagree. Rebasing is not fun. |

Does TMP have a succession plan to take over for Bill? Because obviously he is losing his mind! |

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. About as much fun as a visit to the dentist. |

It's like ice fishing. It feels so good when you stop. |

Done it many times over the years and although I'm glad it's been done I'd much rather be adding new units to a set basing standard. I might have to rebase six cavalry and if I decide to it's the very last rebasing I'm ever going to do. |

Rebasing fun? Like Hell it is! More of a necessary inconvenience, sometimes… |
bruntonboy | 08 May 2016 1:57 a.m. PST |
Well it may not be fun in itself but I find debasing old figures to match my new basing style, together with a bit of touching up paint work, new flags and s nice new coat of shiny varnish is great. Usually it inspires me to add a unit our two to the army and gets them back onto the table. It also helpx to blend in new figures or units to an existing collection. It is a chore but an enjoyable one. Says the proud owner of several hundred debased micro armour models, with several hundred more to do…. |

I just finished a rebasing project and it was definitely NOT fun. |

I'd rather go to the dentist than re-base. |

I re-based all my ACW stuff. Inspired me to add to the collection. It's doubled in size in the last 15 months…..unfortunately so has the unpainted part! |
