I have some 28 mm Congresses Own Regiment figures that have embossed caps. The raised lettering is a simple "COR" across the cap. Are there any tricks to getting the lettering right without painting each letter by hand. I don't have the skill to do that. I was thinking that drybrushing lightly across the cap might work but will probably bleed onto the cap itself. Any help? |

Drybrush lightly and then put a wash of a darker version of the cap colour. |

If the lettering is already on the figure, drybrusing first and after the paint is dry just touch the cap itself – besides the lettering – with a small brush with black paint to have the exensive white after the drybrushing removed. This is the same technique I use for small lines: first paint the lines itself and after that paint the underlying colour left and right of it. That is far easier than first paint the underlying colour and áfter that the small line. |
