There are a fair amount of BattleTech threads and that number could well grow with the interest in Alpha Strike. Could grow even more if given a board of its own to encourage discussion. |

Yes! I/m really surprised that it didn't already. |

No. How old is this system? If its never generated enough interest before, what makes it worth the candle now? |

Would it be better to have a 'Giant Robots' board to cover all rulesets in this genre, or should it be specific to BattleTech? |

Would it be better to have a 'Giant Robots' board to cover all rulesets in this genre, or should it be specific to BattleTech? Good point. Mekatac and other mecha rules which don't currently generate a lot of discussion would certainly fit in well with BattleTech discussions and also might thrive more. I'm happy to amend the proposal to a 'Giant Robots' or 'Giant Mecha' board, whichever title the Editor would prefer.
what makes it worth the candle now? The game has always had staying power, and Alpha Strike is particularly revving up more interest in miniatures play now. |

Alpha Strike's definitely causing a spike in interest, but I don't see that as a reason to balkanise it away where only those already actively interested will see it…. |

"6mm stompy robot board" Not just 6mm! For Alpha Strike, I may well dust off the original plastic BattleDroids models: 1/200 Macross/RoboTech. Others even have the 1/72 models. |

I'm happy with it being on the 6mm SF board. |

Battletech fits in nice with the 6mm board, but not all mech games are 6mm. But then Heavy Gear is 1/144 scale so it doesn't fit in the 6mm or 15mm boards. But is there enough interests to give mechs it's own board? |
skippy0001 | 03 May 2016 5:31 p.m. PST |
YES!!! Agree with the 'Mecha' board not just BT.And don't forget weird war/what-ifs: Game of Thrones with BattleMechs/Mecha. |

If you are having this discussion, it deserves it's own board. Plus it is a great game!

Would it be better to have a 'Giant Robots' board to cover all rulesets in this genre, or should it be specific to BattleTech? How about: Mecha Sci-Fi — For discussion of anything related to wargaming with giant robots.

etotheipi | 04 May 2016 10:02 a.m. PST |
Yes, but it should be a sub-board under a new MechWarrior board. |
Paint it Pink | 05 May 2016 7:12 a.m. PST |
I'd support it, a giant mecha board that is, as it's a genre in its own right, and as for scale my opinion is use whatever works for you: 2mm, 3mm, 6mm, 10/12mm, 15mm or larger. |
Brother Jim | 05 May 2016 7:41 a.m. PST |
I think there should be a Mecha board, not just a BattleTech board. |
D6 Junkie | 05 May 2016 4:42 p.m. PST |
Yeah Mecha, for the big and small. |
Moe the Great | 06 May 2016 3:45 a.m. PST |
Does it not fall under the 6mm scifi umbrella? I don't want to have to check another board. I'm lazy. |
SteveUK | 06 May 2016 6:08 a.m. PST |
Yes, a Battletech board for me, but I will settle for a Mecha/giant stompy robots board |
Twig66 | 07 May 2016 8:25 a.m. PST |
I would like to see a board that covered all Mecha games. |
