Curious. It has got me reading about the stuff, and besides its impact on the game itself, it looks like it has interesting facets as a mini game or as a game on its own. The formations (I mean wing configurations) look interesting, as does the resulting air superiority. Maybe it can give flexibility to the game. Regarding the new kits, the ork attack craft looks cool. The space marine flyers, I had looked to them with wariness first, but then after some thought I have come to actually like them, even as a "technical" creation. Except for the Stormraven, that is. The Stormraven is plain ugly and absolutely lame. And the Dark Talon and its absurd gothic decoration. Its Nephilim cousin looks finer. But to my surprise, the Storm Talon and its rotating engines and underside maneuver thrusters, I actually like it (although a longer tail would help it with more inner space for, to say something, control and auxiliary systems or fuel); even find it a sound design (weird, but sound) for a futuristic craft. The new Storm Hawk (hate this mania to abuse certain words) loses directionable thrust but gets two main engines and two auxilliary ones, gets more weaponry and looks more tough (armoured cockpit). But it looks a brick to fly. I guess the addition of the Talon's thrusters (it uses the same sprues) as an add on to the underside or tail (Harrier style) would make it more likable. It does not look bad either way… |

It would be cool to see a rule set with Epic scale fighters (maybe larger). I have Bommerz over Da Sulphur River. Fun little game but wish there was something with more granularity in Ork vs Imperial air battles. |

What PAR said. I like Bommerz, too, but I'd like something with more meat *and* something that gets across the Orky flavor of Deff Skwadron. (Not to mention a return of the Forge World Ork aircraft, pricey though they were.) |

PAR, that's exactly what Aeronautica Imperialis was. All the major races, even had miniatures. There are still boards and online groups. There were narrative campaigns running online up to a few years ago--not sure if they're still going. |

Perhaps Aeronautica Imperialis may return with Specialty Games…? Although it was always a Forgeworld joint, and not a Specialty Game per se IIRC. We are due for another go at AI, it's lots of fun, with no real intense "turn plotting" like many aerial combat games. w. |

My beef with AI was the expense, and the fact that it never really caught on around here . . . primarily because of the expense. |

Why couldn't you just use this with the smaller planes? That is probably what I'll do with it. |

I considered that. I'll look through it at the local game store. |
