I would like to start a new period and, at the moment, GNW in 28 mm is my favorite. For the Swedish I'm thinking to Ebor Miniatures, but they do not produce Russian, so It would be possible to mix with Warfare Miniatures? For the rules any suggestion? My average unit is around 24 figures, but at the same time I don't like units with just two piles, so if more figures are needed ok. Please give me your advise. Thanks. |

Have a look at League of Augsburg GNW range: link |

I would use warfare for both swedes and Russians. You can also use their league of Augsburg figures for saxons. I also recommend warfare's own rules beneath the lilly banners for GNW. Here are my swedes both cav and infantry are warfare. link But to answer your question. Yes you can use ebor swedes and warfare Russians. Warfare are more realistic the in proportions. "Slimmer" |

Dave and Gunfreak, thanks for your indication, the only difference I see is the price: WM 5 infantry model for 8,5 pounds against 6,6 pounds for 6 infantry models of Ebor Miniatures. When you start thinking of two or more armies, all with a great percentage of cavalry inside…. But in any case passion is passion, so I just ordered Beneath Lilly Banners…. |

Gunfreak my compliments for your swedish troops, they really looks awesome. |

Thanks! And yes ebor has some great prices. Especially the brigade deals. Warfare also has unit deals. 18 cav for £45.00 GBP ain't bad! |

Ciao Dino, we are currently playing Marlburian with BLB rules at our local club and we are enjoying them very much. In my opinion you have made the right choice. Keep up the good work:-) Marco |

Thanks Marco, you are playing GNW or WSS? Which models are you using? Gunfreak, You are right ain't bad at all, but if you live spending Euros, you will need 1,275 Euro for a Pound then you need to add P&P….. In any case, you think that Ebor and WM can be mixed? Thanks again for your patience. Dino |
Gunfreak | 30 Apr 2016 2:50 p.m. PST |
Yes ebor and warfare can be mixed. I wouldn't mix them in the same unit. But ebor swedes vs WM russians ir saxons no problem. And if you look a here TMP link RogerC has warfare, ebor and foundry in the same unit. He prefers ebor. You should take a look at his blog great eye candy and inspiration. |

Footsore miniatures now produce and sell the old Musketeer Miniatures GNW ranges: link They also do Russians: link As for rules, we use Twilight of the Sunking for our late 17th/ early 18th century games. Unusual mechanism, no calculation of firing or melee. Units take morale tests, which factor in whether thay have been shot at, charged, outnumbered, outflanked etc. Works on any base sizing as units are defined by frontage, which in turn affects movement distances, range at which firing forces morale checks etc. Ideal for refighting large battles. |

Polemos GNW link are unique in that they are written specifically for the GNW rather than treating this unique period as a subset of the WSS. Like the rest of the Polemos series, they are figure scale neutral and can be used quite happily with whatever size of metal or plastic toys you prefer to use. |

Dino, we are currenty playing WSS using Sanish, Imperial and French troops. Our figures are a mix of Ebor (excellent indeed) and Front Rank (Always a classic good choice for quality and ease of painting). Marco |

Hi, like you I have only recently started to collect a GNW army. I am doing Swedes and Saxons. Thank you Gunfreak for the nod to my blog gapagnw.blogspot.co.uk I know it doesn't work for everyone but I have missed Foundry, Warfare and Ebor in my units. Ebor I personally think are by far the nicest. For my Saxons I have missed Ebor command figures with wargames factory musketeers. Personally I find this has worked really well for me but I appreciate not everyone will agree. Our intial thoughts are to use Black Powder rules with appropriate amendments for the period. |

How do Ebor mix with Foundry? Ebor are surprisingly quite small so mix really well with Foundry. |

Il Granatiere , you mention wanting to do Russians but Ebor not released them yet. Ebor have Russians ready, they have had them for a couple of moths they are just not on the web site yet. If you email Nick I ma sure you can get hold of some, they are very nice. |

My pleasure, I have seen a photo of a painted Russian dragoon from Ebor and it looks really nice. |
