Are the FOW and Skytrex labels mixed up?

Yesthatphil30 Apr 2016 1:06 p.m. PST

No … the Skytrex model differs in that it is available in the earlier spoked wheel type (which as I used) – so it is easy to pick out – as well as the later dish wheels. FoW and Zvezda are just available with the more common dished/solid wheels. As usual, the FoW also has thicker tracks.

FWIW, Zvezda and Skytrex get the turret shape a bit better, too …

That said, it might well be a FoW commander sticking his head out the top (but the vehicle is definitely Skytrex wink)..

Since the original review, I stripped the side pods from the Battlefront/Fow model and changed the commander and some turret parts in order to do the A40 glider (so there is a slight mismatch between the original review photos and the new side-by-sides) …

The only noticeable difference between the Zvezda and the BF tank seems to be the thinness of the tracks. I'd certainly have no compunction about putting 8-9 Zvezda T-60s in a platoon led by a BF model. Gotta have that Commander peeking out of the turret.

Following the comments above I have reversed the alteration to the turrets and have done the pictures again to give a truer comparison (and updated the blog/reviews page entries)

Here are the revised pictures …
