Ok, so after having spent the last 5 years painting lotr, I know my colour palettes won't be right for my new foray!

I have seen some old posts on the below and just hoping for some up to date perspectives.

So we are talking 20mm armour here. Looking for spray recommendations that would allow me to do
German Grey
Dunkelgelb
German sand (ie north africa)
Russian Green
US Green
Uk Green.

I am in the UK (slight giveaway ion the name..) so would prefer UK suppliers.

Also any recommendations for good websites that would take me through painting armour ?

Finally suppliers of 20mm / 1:72 decals ?

Many thanks all.

Plastic soldier company is your one stop shop

Check for Tamiya, as they do most of the sprays on your list. I use Tamiya Olive Green for Russian Armor, and Olive Drab for US armor. Depending on what time period for British armor, Olive Drab would also be appropriate (latewar the British switched to a color similar to US OD so that local equipment would match with the Lend-Lease equipment, or equipment licensed produced in the US/Canada).

Damon.

I suspect you can use the Tamiya rattle cans for a lot of the above, if you don't want to bother with a spray gun.

Their paints are available around the globe, I suspect, in hobby shops, or on-line retailers.

Plastic Soldier Company has paint and decals.

FOW has paint, thicker in my opinion than PSC.

Dom's decals are 15mm but I used them for my 20mm vehicles and they are perfect. Less expensive than PSC as well. Dom is a great guy to deal with. His website give lots of info on where to put the decals as well.

Plastic Soldier Company's German yellow is the later more green shade of yellow suitable for Tunisia onwards but not the earlier periods which are much more yellow. I use Army Painter Desert ~Yellow for my Afrika Korps.

Hi,

I can't seem to source sprays for late war German yellow (Dunkelgelb) from either Plastic Soldier or FOW.

Any other suggestions for spray cans available in the UK?

Cheers,

Furgie

Garand mentions Tamiya. If you can get those their TS-3 Dark Yellow spray can makes a very good Dunkelgelb
