The game that the Warlords ran at Salute had loads of webcams so that people at the show could see the game live both on monitors at the game and, if they chose, broadcast live using a router at the show on any smartphone gamers wanted to log in with at the event.
The cameras and software had three functions:
1) the scenery we used is quite enclosed (the bridge looks a bit like the Globe Theatre!) so visibility was always problematic (especially when surrounded by players);
2) the end of the current game/start of the next game was being broadcast allowing players to return in time for the next slot;
3) finally the game moves (based on the boardgame Star Wars Epic Duels) were software driven using Kindle tablets in a scratchbuilt shell (one each for the four players).
