That gigantic circular roofed docking area for galleys is, well, gigantic. Is there any archaeological evidence for a structure that enormous?

You can still see exactly how big it was by looking at the coastline of Tunis. The circular cothon and neighboring commercial harbor are still there, if a bit silted up.
