My primary tabletop is a 2'x2' square piece of 2" thick styrofoam, painted earthy on one side and sandy on the other. Here are a few pictures of it with different terrain themes:
Desert side with Egyptian scenery.
Earthy side with Fuzzy Pink Alien terrain.
Earthy side with some wintery terrain and too many elves. I also have two 20"x30" snow boards that I make a 40"x60" boatd with by using binder clips to hold them together, if I have a chance I will take some pics and post them later.

My table is a 6x9 foot plywood table top that rests on some counter units. The table is covered with mats and the terrain is added. TABLE:

My table itself is a pair of 120cm x 90cm drawing boards. They are about 2cm thick, and hollow in the middle so they don't weigh nearly as much as plywood. I glued green felt to the tops. Drops of hot-glue act as feet and keep them in place on my much-smaller dining table. Some homemade terrain layouts on them: FoW (15mm WWII): link 6mm Team Yankee:

Much smaller, and not on the wooden boards: 10mm Kings of War: link |

My main table at the moment is a 6x12 (two 6x6 tables) mounted on trestles. Also have a 9x5 table tennis table top (well two 5x4.5' halves to be exact). We have played Western Skirmish on the two together with total length of 15 feet. |

I bought two 8' X 2.5' folding banquet tables at Sam's Club. They fit solidly together, they are well-made, and they store in the garage nicely. All I have to do is pop them open, throw a Cigar Box mat on top, and I'm in business. |

My wargames table is a 6x4 piece of plywood, sawn in half and hinged. I put it on my dining room table, which is "bar-height" and therefore perfect for wargaming. |

Unless I am mistaken those trees are just assorted green "pom poms" from the craft store…

Yep, assorted pompoms in several colors. The mountains are dark green towels hotglued to terraced styrofoam forms. |
