Any suggestions for suitable table sources in the UK please?

Ideally 6ft by 5ft maybe 7ft by 6ft at a push but also sturdy.

I would prefer not to stand two tables side by side as it is a bit less stable.

I have searched online but those available are too narrow. Table tennis table would be good but I dont have the space.

2 6 foot conference tables when side by side are 5 feet wide.

Anything wider is hard to store/transport. Also the conference tables are easy to obtain.

And 3 conference tables together make a 6' by 7.5' surface. Light and sturdy.

did you have to lay a piece of wood over the top of them or just as they are?

Just as a they are is fine for miniatures. Paper map wargames need something to flatten it – I used poster boards taped together.

You may want to get a couple clamps to clamp the tables together if you have REALLY clumsy players.

We put multiple tables like that, side by side, at the local club for gaming, and they work quite well.

You can top with wood, or other materials, if desired, to make them even more stable.

Yup, conference tables.
Our village hall as a pile of them that I use when I hire the hall for wargaming.
I then have a stack of 6x2' chipboard sheets to ensure a clean/level playing table.

I also have a cheap and cheerful table in my understaffs cupboard, that I've used in emergency with 4x2' chipboard on top when my kitchen table .was unavailable.

G-clamp two pasting tables together. Sorted.

Table tennis table perhaps?

I bought two folding tables just before Christmas. Amazon UK store "Folding Tables UK". About £25.00 GBP each plus postage. They are standard catering size conference tables. Very sturdy and stable and fold down with a carrying handle. I think they are a good buy.
