Been listening via Amazon Audible. Pretty good account. I'd recommend it. DM |

Of interest. Thanks. I have been listening recently to Beevor's Spanish Civil War book when I work out (I do!!) and the Crete title is of interest to me. Only negative is the maps that I can't view as the book is narrated and also if I wish to rehear a passage it is an inconvience scrolling back especially when running. Thanks again. |

I found the book to be quite badly researched. Many points were missed or simply not mentioned. And while i very much liked the Berlin book, MR Beevor's somewhat poor research was in evidance again in his Stalingrad book, where he repeated the "Goring promised Hitler he could supply the 6th army by air" myth. Goring's aid at Hitler HQ made the promise. Goring was shocked when he heard of the airlift promise. He had nothing to do with it. Beevors hit and miss research is the reason i won't buy the Buldge book. |

I concur with John Lacour. I heard him expounding on a BBC D Day anniversary programme and was not impressed. |
