If we have computer-aided spray cans, can computer-aided paint brushes be far behind? evil grin

If you make that in pea dot you could be a Thousandair

Cosmic Reset23 Apr 2016 7:19 a.m. PST

So basically, they've invented the printer?

Winston Smith23 Apr 2016 8:27 a.m. PST

Get back to me when they can do diced hose.

GarrisonMiniatures23 Apr 2016 9:06 a.m. PST

Still waiting for someone to produce a tartan paint. Though I'm thinking about Thracians rather than Scots.

GarrisonMiniatures23 Apr 2016 9:07 a.m. PST

Actually, always wondered – did Thracians have clan tartans or were they just random?

Bashytubits23 Apr 2016 10:08 a.m. PST

Why would you want diced hose? I hear it tastes horrible.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut23 Apr 2016 10:31 a.m. PST

If you dice a hose, it leaks, doesn't it?

Mute Bystander23 Apr 2016 11:23 a.m. PST

Obviously there is no hope for some of us…

wink

Don't like diced hose. They're biased – never yet managed to roll a six with one.

"Still waiting for someone to produce a tartan paint. "

Just have to figure out how to get the magnetized paint particles to form up correctly into the proper patterns before it dries… wink

They have used robots for spray painting cars for a long time

Technically it is possible – something like printer ink cartridge technology could be adapted to painting miniatures.

However I doubt that the market would ever be large enough, unless there is some other market we could piggy back off

Registration of miniature to printer and software would be major issues to overcome

Here's another thought. "Virtual Reality" is starting to happen where your glasses project an image of something, so that it seems to you that there are real objects – there are a number of prototypes out there. This could replace miniature gaming altogether ……

As for the tartan paint, I have a kickstarter for it that I would like you to contribute to ….
