I set up some figs to try out "A Glint of Bayonets." The figures are BUM, glossy painted and mounted on poker chips. I picked up a bunch of these guys already painted and mounted for cheap, so I can overlook the quality issues.

Each side has a four regiment (20 figs per) brigade, and a four gun battery of artillery. The Union started out okay, but Reb counter-battery fire took its toll on the Union guns. The Union pushed back a Reb regiment in the center but, for the last four turns, took 2-3 casualties for every one they gave. The Union morale generally held firm, but the excessive casualties caused a brigade morale failure and the Union was forced to withdrawal off the field.

Totally cool! I am often impressed with the results one can achieve with simple sculpts like BMC with even a rudimentary paint job.

Looks like the start of a fine ACW collection in 54mm. Undercoat those guns with flat black or dark brown, and drybrush the carriage and barrel -- you'll be delighted with the result.

Wow, Joe, your figures are beautiful! I scrolled down to what looks like FIW and they knocked my socks off.

@dB: I've got at least another 150-200 painted infantry, as well as some arty crews, and a lot of generals. What I don't have is any more cannons.
