Played an Early War fight, Poles vs Germans in a cityscape this weekend. Tried out splitting my units into smaller groups to somehow solve the "locked down firefight" problems that we've had in our previous games. I didn't really follow it through completely as I ended up lacking commanders to control those small units… Anyway, it was a good looking battle so not too much to complain about despite seeing my Poles lose their more too fast despite just average losses. I discussed the morale loss and taking hits on commanders with my opponent, we both think that rolling a D6 regardless of the number of losses is just a too high probability of having your commander hit. I suggested using dice to match the size of units (D6/8/10/20) and re-roll any result beyong the number of models in your unit. That way a unit of 18 soldiers taking a single hit would only see the officer wounded on 1 out of 18 instead a 16% chance on a D6 die. Check my blog for a shorter writeup of the action and more pictures: link

Makes sense to me on the officers issue. Stunning looking figures and terrain as well! Love the attention to detailing, with the inclusion even, of interior windows showing a view to the surrounding city skyline. Thanks for sharing your pics. Are those Pendraken minis? I've got some Minifigs guys I need to base, and am planning to do some squad/fire team bases, but may need to do some individual guys for skirmishes too, since they look so great (they appear to be as good in terms of detailing, as many 15mm figures). |

Thanks, the Buildings are customized and some of them scratch built by a fellow wargamer here in Sweden from whom I bought them. That was the deal of a lifetime :-) As for the miniatures, the Germans are Battlefront I Think. My Poles are Forged in Battle, the R35 is from Peter Pig. |

Ah, so they are 1/100th scale, and not 1/144th. Thanks for the info on them, and the buildings. |

How did you make those sidewalks? I have tried multiple methods but nothing has worked for me. What you have is exactly what I've been trying to do. |
