Kind of gives you a better idea of how awkward the close-range combat would be with one of the WizKids Mechwarrior Dark Age Construction Mechs.

I spent several months following a guy in an excavator tearing down trees to widen a road (and got paid for it!), and I am here to tell you, whacking things with the bucket arm will surely break that arm.

I know it will because my guy did it several times whacking down trees, until he figured out that he had mad shoving power and learned to just push the trees over, even great tall eucalyptus trees.

I also learned (as infantry in Mechwarrior must) to stay MUCH farther away from the mech than you possibly imagine to be safe.
