We recently had another game of To the Strongest! at club. This time we wanted to test ranged combat "for real", so we went for the fateful clash between the Umayyad Caliphate and the Turgesh Khanate that took place in present day Uzbekistan in 731 AD.

A complete AAR plus many more pictures can be found on Hook Island.

Love the mat…home-made or purchased? If purchased, where from?

Thanks a lot, guys.

The board is home made – polystyrene with sand, paint and flock.

Last week we fought the concluding part of this battle (which in reality lasted for three days). The Umayyads have pushed through the pass and are ambushed by the Turgesh nomads. The result is a considerably larger battle than the first one.

Full AAR at Hook Island.
