Yes they have a old box of ACW infantry but these are much more animated and cool. |

Jim, what a you are. Meet up for a chat at Colours if you want ? |
stephen phillip | 16 Apr 2016 9:00 a.m. PST |
Very nice, but im more interested in the colonial figures at the bottom of the photo :- ) |
dave001776 | 16 Apr 2016 9:12 a.m. PST |
Stephen, they are the new plastic NWF plastic Brits with some metal Pathans. |
stephen phillip | 16 Apr 2016 9:14 a.m. PST |
Thanks dave and thanks for the original post |
Herkybird | 16 Apr 2016 9:48 a.m. PST |
I have ordered some of the Colonial British, but wish the Perrys would bring out plastic Pathans too! Metal ones are too heavy to lug around and are expensive for the numbers you need! |

Plastic Union Infantry, an answer to my prayers. Thank you oh Gods of Perry ACW plastic, I humbly genuflect before you! With the addition of their metal Sharpshooters and Iron Brigade and no this my life is complete! (You know until I decide I need something else…) |

@dave001776 Thanks for your invite to chat at Colours which I would have to decline as it is a show I do not attend. It's too far for me to travel without expending too much of my pension. I'm sorry if my simple message of 'link?' has upset you but I do understand that it is in common usage on TMP to remind a poster that he has missed something. Please don't resort to insulting language as someone may complain about it. If you are having a bad day then I hope it passes quickly for you. |
Chokidar | 16 Apr 2016 10:58 a.m. PST |
Jim, you have expressed it most elegantly… personally from his language I feel more like .. Any time you like Dave001776… C. |
JimDuncanUK | 16 Apr 2016 11:09 a.m. PST |
Give him a chance C, maybe he is having a bad day. |
dBerczerk | 16 Apr 2016 11:11 a.m. PST |
You sure meet a lot of interesting people posting on The Miniatures Page. |
dave001776 | 16 Apr 2016 11:11 a.m. PST |
Jim, it was meant as a tongue in cheek response to your initial response, you could have just said something along the lines of'oh how interesting, could you post a link' or something similar. There could be any number of reasons why I didn't post a link at that point and I do actually have one !! Chokidar, it can't be ' any time' but I will be at Colours. |
JimDuncanUK | 16 Apr 2016 11:19 a.m. PST |
OK Dave, I accept that but like I said the form I used is in common use across TMP. If you and C meet up at a show which I attend let me know and I'll jump in between you both. |
dave001776 | 16 Apr 2016 1:08 p.m. PST |
Cheers Jim, sorry for using that word, it really wasn't meant in a nasty way. No hard feelings mate, the plastic union do look good tho !!! |
JimDuncanUK | 16 Apr 2016 1:38 p.m. PST |
That's fine Dave, all sorted. I'm coming around to metal one piece figures as opposed to multi-part plastic figures now. I seem to spend a long long time glueing bits together but when I bought a box of metals recently I started painting them the same evening. |
dave001776 | 16 Apr 2016 1:51 p.m. PST |
That is true but I do quite enjoy putting the Perry plastic ACW together, they are pretty simple and quick to do. |

A good addition to the line up. I recently bought their ACW battle in a box, which contained the original generic infantry and the later confederate box. There is a difference, with the earlier ones looking a bit chunkier – these new Union should bring everything up to date nicely. |
dave001776 | 17 Apr 2016 4:24 a.m. PST |
agreed, just hope we won't have to wait too long !! |
HammerHead | 17 Apr 2016 6:50 a.m. PST |
normsmith, the first box of Perry plastic figures were 25mm the later figures are 28mm and are IMO sharper detailed the hats will not fit. If you pick on one Dave you pick on all Daves on TMP, You don`t want to do that |

Hammerhead – I am not aware that I 'picked on a Dave'! |
dave001776 | 18 Apr 2016 4:49 a.m. PST |
I did wonder myself, but it was still a good one !! |
Buff Orpington | 18 Apr 2016 9:47 a.m. PST |
AFAIK the original Perry plastic ACW infantry were 28mm, I have 3 boxes of them but they weren't specifically Union figures, they could be done as either side but the compromise didn't suit a lot of people. |
dave001776 | 18 Apr 2016 10:22 a.m. PST |
that is true, they were designed to be a bit generic but I have loads and they paint up a treat. I am very pleased they have some specific union types in the pipeline tho, I didn't think they would do them. |

What I miss o the new Perry ACW plastics is the firing line poses… |
