Very well painted, but it appears the man holding the ram/sponge is wearing spatterdashers and they need to be painted black. Hard to see for sure. Looks very nice.

He is presumably depicted wearing 'gaitered' white pantaloons or overalls. The caps suggest the field uniforms adapted for Burgoyne's expedition. The von Germann paintings show a Royal Artillery soldier gunner in white pantaloons.

Perry figures are nice.

I understand that but the figure clearly has sculpted breeches and spatterdashes on.

Ah, _that_ man. Indeed. I really must get some new glasses.

I have to face this challenge with my Brunswickers. They have long gaiters on (the Blue Moon figures), but for the Burgoyne expedition they had long gaitered trousers. Paint everything white? Or go ahead and paint the gaiters and damn the inaccuracy?

Depends on how noticable and what you can live with. Go with WWII ship camoflouge to distract the eye. :-)

What color are the tops of the ammo chests? Metal or wood?
Same as the rest of the cannon?

@VirginiaTory – File off any side buttons down to the last three or so, then file down the tops of the gaiters and you're there.

SM…that's where I was leaning. I'll try it on a couple of figures and see how it looks.
