The ones in the two photo albums were done by a fellow gamer, but mine are done almost the same way. He prefers to drill out the right hand of each miniature and insert a piece of piano wire. I use a shortcut; I push a blade into the hand to create a small "v" shaped notch, and then superglue a piece of florist's wire to the notch, and to the figure's right foot at the base. Once you paint over the glue joint it just looks like a hand, lost in the mass of a 15-figure pike block of 10mm figures. The "arm's length" rule applies, especially when you're fielding hundreds of small figures. He also prefers to exaggerate the length of the pikes and the size of the standards a bit more than I do, but they all look fine on the table. |
