One of the three games to feature at this month's meeting of the Devon Wargames Group was this 15mm Roman/Companion vs Samnite/Gallic clash using Hail Caesar.

The game was a treat for the eye and featured some heavy fighting and frustrating blunders.

Thanks for the AARs Jonathan. Thoroughly enjoyed them and the armies on the table.

Am slowly putting together some 28mm Etruscans and have actually finished a unit of Campanian hoplites. Will work on Gallic allies next.

Great looking figures! The detail is very well done in this scale. I like the write up on your blog. Hail Caesar is a great set of rules.

Most excellent painting on the figures

Thanks for the kind comments on the figures and the game.

Still got more to add yet to this project as we are looking at adding a 4th Roman Division, adding to the Campanians / Oscans, plus adding Apulians, Luccanains, Etruscans and more Gauls

Thanks
Nick

Fantastic looking battle and beautifully painted figures. Your Samnites and other Italians provide me with great inspiration. In the photo above, who are those Hoplites (Samnites, Campanians, Etruscans)?

yumyum18 Apr 2016 11:02 a.m. PST

That is the Campanians with Oscans standing behind them, and are Forged in battle figures.

Nice looking game! Those bases are intriguing!
