Hello! I'm excited to announce my next scenario book! I've been pondering waiting until closer to release, but I decided to go ahead and announce and publish some images. My next book will be Brave Hearts Trembled: Regimental Wargame Scenarios for the Battle of Antietam Stock Number: HI007 ISBN: 978-0-9904122-5-0 Below is the list of scenarios I'm currently working on including with the book: 1. Skirmish in East Woods 2. Dawn at the Cornfield 3. Sedgewick Attacks! 4. The North Flank Big 5. The Sunken Road 6. The Middle Bridge 7. Burnside Bridge 8. Ninth Corps Attack The book will also include an order of battle. Below are three versions of the cover. I'm trying to decide which one I like the best. Let me know what you think!
The book should be released in July. It will be available through Amazon, at any game or book store by ordering with the ISBN number, and as an ebook through Wargame Vault. Also, as something new, I'm going to release (hopefully at the same time or within a month of publication) a "map" book for Antietam. This will have an order of battle, and will be full of maps in a variety of sizes and scales. The purpose is to allow gamers to make their own scenarios. There will be maps in 25, 33, 40, and 50 yards per foot. Maps sizes all the way from small 4 x 4 feet to large 5 x 8 feet and plenty in between. In all scales! It will basically be a small introduction, OOB, and then pages and pages of maps. Design your own scenarios! I'll keep you updated in the future. I'll post some maps and other pictures. I don't know if I'll release a free scenario, but we'll see. Brad Butkovich Historic Imagination |

So we are all on the same page, what does "regimental wargame" mean? |

I think the middle scenario book looks best. Lighter colors…the others are a bit dark. |

The basic unit of the game is the regiment (like Johnny Reb, Regimental Fire & Fury) instead of brigade (like original Fire & Fury and Volley & Bayonet). |

As many of you know, Brad's scenario books are awesome. I've gamed many of his scenarios. Being a Western Theater guy I'm hoping he will come back to the West and cover some more campaigns from that part of the war. Chattanooga campaign, Tennessee campaign, Vicksburg? Come on Brad, surely 24 hours is enough in a day to crank all that out! Again, I highly recommend any of Brad's books. |

Shiloh is next. January-ish 2017. Then Atlanta Vol. 2 July-August in mid-2017. |

Brad, Outstanding!! I rather like the Third Cover, seems more appropriate for Dawn in the Cornfield! I guess I can wait a little longer for Shiloh!! How about Franklin and Perryville sometime in the not too distant future?!?! |

I like the bottom cover. The top one is a close 2nd. The middle one is too limited terrain wise. The mix of terrain, monuments and haze captures the battlefield for me, so my vote goes to the bottom cover. |

Huzzah! I knew you wouldn't forget about us in the West. |

Do you have links for your other scenario books? Any good for Guns at Gettysburg/Black Powder? |

Sure! link link These scenarios are designed to be used with almost any American Civil War regimental (or brigade level really) set of rules. Rules are included for figures based on 20, 30, 40, 50, and 100 historic men per figure/stand. Times are given for 10, 15, and 20 minutes per game turn. Maps are in full color, as are the numerous color photographs of the modern battlefield. |

The iconic image in my own mind's eye for Antietam is all the fighting back and forth across the cornfields. So the second cover pushes the right buttons for me. Regardless of the cover though, this looks to be a book worth getting. I have two other books in the series covering the Atlanta campaign and Chickamauga, and I'm very happy with them. A book on Shiloh would be very welcome. |

I like the third cover but I will purchase this book whatever ends up being the chosen design! This authors work sets the standard for research, scenario design and book production in my (rarely) humble opinion! |

I like the first cover, it has a nice broad view of the field in front, including the cornfield in the background. |

Just finished the Bloody Lane scenario. Thought I would put up a sample pic.
