As a loosener before last Sunday's Bash Day, on Friday night Scott and I fought Andy Bailey's Chickamauga scenario. This is an interesting battle to try to design a scenario for. The armies are roughly equal size. The woods everywhere make command and control and coordination of attacks difficult. The Union has the advantage of defending in difficult terrain. The Confederates have the advantage of the initiative and choice of where to attack. Also, although the woods protect the defenders, they also restrict the defending artillery's fields of fire.

Andy and I had put a lot of thought into how to construct the game and I think we succeeded. Scott just toured the Chickamauga battlefield three weeks ago, and he thought the scenario was great and really captured the feel of the battle.

The Chickamauga scenario is in the BBB Yahoo group files now, and also in my Flickr photostream. Comments welcome as always.

JAS, if you google "Chickamauga BBB scenario flickr" that should find you a couple of IMG links. Those take you to photos of an earlier game, but in the same album you'll find the 3 pages of scenario.

And maybe this link to the album will work:
