Lately I have been checking out the game Roman Seas and it looks like some thing I might wish to get into. I have two questions for players of the game? 1. In Roman vs Carthage naval fleet battles, how many of each different ship type (6 for Rome & 5 for Carthage) do you have in your fleets? 2. The ship look thick so I assume they are either printed on card stock or printed on label paper and then stuck onto card stock before assembly? Who am I kidding. I have bad eyes and shaking hands due to old age now and I would never be able to assemble these ships. Any one know of some one that has pre-built Roman & Carthage ships they are selling off? Or is there a service that assembles the ships for you? I look forward to your replies either here in this thread or PM me or email me at missykty@aol.com if you have ships to sell. |

Green Beanie I have the ships. You print them out on 60 lb card stock. I have bad eyes so I use a lamp magnifier to cut out and assemble the ships. As to your request for anybody that assembles I have not heard of anyone. The 5s and 6s was the main warship of both side during that period. 3s were used for scouting and anti pirate work. |

6's were Roman flagships, so 1 per squadron max. Mostly 5's in later wars but earlier Carthage had a lot of 4's. 3's were used by both sides but not just for scouting. Escorting merchants, raiding, defensive squadrons on more remote stations figured in the jobs they did too. |

Don't spend money paying someone online if you can't build the paper models yourself (although you should give it a try). Hire some kid, or your own kid to assemble them for you. I'd find a high school kid. Expect some wastage as it takes 1-2 ships before you figure out how to build them right, but since they're on cardstock, you just print a few more. If you can't paint the 6mm minis required for troops, I suggest you go buy 1/2" colored tile bits used for mosaics from an art store like Michaels and use them as counters. I think I bought two bags for around $7.00 USD and they work fine. |

In the Roman seas on Yahoo groups there are card stock figures you can print off. You find them in the files section. |

Belisarius, I tried to see the figures but could not get into the files section. Any way you could show them here so we could see them? |
