Nicely done. I especially like the helmet color.

Nice work! I've got those same personality figs but haven't started painting them as yet.

So, how do you create a unit for a set of rules that isn't out yet? You can't know the unit sizes without seeing the rules, etc. Or, do you have an inside track on the rules and thus, perhaps, this is but an early advert for the rules?

Not attacking your work, beautifully done, but it seems a lot of what gets posted in discussion groups is really just promotional material for some set of rules – or figure range, etc. Not wrong, if that is what is happening, but I'd prefer it done in a straight forward manner were full revelation is made by those doing so stating that is what they are doing.

And if you have nothing to do with the rules, then how did you decide to build the unit? Curious.

Early Morning Writer – Go to Dan Mersey's blog or the Dux Bellorum forum. He has posted some recommended sizes.

Also I have no affiliation with Dan Mersey or Empress Miniatures – I'm just a guy who plays with Toy Soldiers. Why I decided to do the unit is that I really like Dan's rules and have played Dux Bellorum and Dragon Rampant. I reread recently the Washing of the Spears and it got me going again on an Anglo-Zulu War project. The figures will also guest star in games of In Her Majesty's Name.

I find it interesting to see that his own miniatures are based on 4 multi-figure stands.
