The current shiny object grabbing my attention is giant monster battles using small (8cm/3"), off the shelf toys and figures, and the 6mm buildings I use for MekaTac: GSRE. Destroy All Monsters by John Xavier Crimmins is currently in the lead as it has several things going for it – it's a free download, uses opposed rolls, has cascading 6's, monster stats are easy to generate, the rules simple enough that new players and partially inebriated gaming convention attendees can follow along, etc. Though I have yet to play a game, there are even some optional extras scribbled on the side: Plot, subplot, and movie industry cards.
Has anyone figured out how to award experience points at the end of a game so that the monsters grow/evolve/mutate between games in a campaign?
How about victory points based on the type of carnage, kills, and collateral damage?
Thanks!
