I thought it was more of a galloping past to avoid encirclement thing. |

I recall reading somewhere that the incident this myth came from was during the fighting in the Polish corridor. A Polish cavalry unit had surprised a German infantry unit in column and overran it. Then some German armored cars came up and hit the Poles while they were trying to regroup and cut the cavalry up pretty good, the Poles scrambling to get away. Some Italian journalists, whose German wasn't that good, came on the scene shortly and then published a garbled version of the story, reporting that the Poles had charged tanks. The German propaganda ministry picked up the story and ran with it. |

Nice figures. Rubbish painting of tanks. Quite agree; what tanks are those? I recall reading somewhere that the incident this myth came from was during the fighting in the Polish corridor. Quite agree; Polish cavalry were dismounted as mobile infantry just like everybody else's. |
