First time in my country we see the news about the Hercules C-130 (Tango-Charlie 68) who was used as a sea bomber in the Falkland/Malvinas War…

They used a "local" sistem with six bombs and some Pucará optics in that big plane… the name the English give to them was "Tiger"… they attack a Liberian-flagged oil tanker under license from USA with their six bombs in the wings of the plane …they penetrated the structure but did not explode (courtesy of our Chilean brothers)…. the ship named "Hercules" was towed to Brazil(anothe good friends!)… and as they cannot disarm the bombs was carried out to sea and sunk … I had not mentioned these fact because the US Company started a trial to Argentina (where the fact was refused) and now prescribed the time of it…

Interesting… because there are not many examples of C-130 used as sea bombers…

Welcome back, Tango01.

Be careful in what you copy-and-paste from now on, yeah?

The Herc is a versatile aircraft and nothing surprises me anymore in what it is used for.

C-130 rolling down the strip, Airborne Daddy's gonna take a little trip…

Tango, I'm sure if was in the news in Argentina much earlier. It was common knowledge in 1982, having been reported in the news extensively when it happened. I recall seeing video of the FAA showing Thierry bomb rolling kit to a news team.

Well… many times we take note of war news many years latter… (smile)
