Due to recent changes in the law, Colorado hopes to attract more tourism. Are you more likely now to travel to Colorado for a wargaming event, show or convention? |

Less likely… If that was the intent it was ill conceived. TRU |

The law was a very bad decision. Disingenuous folks wormed it in with the medical part first then they were able to get the recreational part passed a few years later. It has brought in all kinds of deadbeats, transients, addicts, and increased homelessness not to mention driven up the cost of housing and rents. I can only hope other states make it legal now so they will disperse back to other locations. |

Less reason to go to the local cons because they have changed their focus from gaming to cosplay. Add to that the closure of Attacktix, Valhalla, and Bonnie Brae and we have gone from a great gaming town to a desert. |

Hated to hear about Bonnie Brae.. loved that place back in the day. Attacktix was a cool store too. |

The local con is now run by an event management company. From what I heard it was not as friendly to miniatures events |

Yes, the conventions have taken quite a nose dive. They are more along the lines of comic con then in the past. I went to both last year and don't plan to attend again. In the good old days they would charge $5 USD for a visitor pass and give you a coupon good for $5 USD in the dealers room. I always spent more than that. The most recent one charged $10 USD for a visitor pass. The were a few vendors selling common miniatures and games and at least twice as many selling cosplay stuff. The loss of Bonnie Brea was in part brought on by the increase in rents on Broadway (Main Street for the drug dealers). |

Presuming those changes are what I think, not to get into a discussion of the politics, surrounding states have asked the courts to force the feds to enforce federal laws on the matter. Could be changes before the next Tacticon. |

Rocky Mountain High, baby! So I guess at cons people drink and smoke weed while playing now? I thought the former alone was bad enough. :-( |

There are still some gems in Colorado. The Colpar shops both East and West have one of the best selection of plastic models I have ever seen. If you're into 1/72, their selection of tanks kits and troops will not disappoint(best selection in the East shop) Also, do not miss out on Aberdeen books. A free standing building of mostly military books. Two full rooms+ of WWII both new and used. If I could only make one stop Aberdeen would be it. |

The Solicitor General in a 'friend of the court' filing backed Colorado on the issue of the Supremacy clause. SCOTUS continues not to take up the case. 'Tourism' isn't going to be changed in Colorado without a significant change in the court's makeup. As to whether that impacts my plans, not at all either way. I'm probaby headed to Denver in July, my wife is trying to get me to go to a con when we are on the trip. |

Why do people ask question as if everyone already knows whats being asked. Changes in what law, how were they changed? I assume from the responses your talking about marijuana, but from the OP I can only guess. |
