I used to drink it just about daily but I'm no longer able to have alcohol (unrelated reason not over indulgence). Along with port it is the only drink I miss. |

Currently have 7 bottles of different types, from the light mixed drink Ronrico/Malibu/Bacardi stuff to the Appleton Estate and Pyrat as well as a bottle of Gosling Black Seal Black Rum sitting on my liquor shelf in my home office about 6 feet away from me… Oddly enough I have never tried Pusser's…. |

When I run out of stout, balzams, vodka, raki, ouzo, pisang, brandy, kaluha, peppermint schnapps, everclear, dandelion wine, and amarula, I might get into the rum … but that's really SWMBO's drink (with soda). |
Old Wolfman | 01 Apr 2016 6:39 a.m. PST |
Had an uncle who made a decent Cuba Libre. |

I've been a fan of spiced rum lately, particularly Kraken. Like KSmyth, had a bad experience with Malibu Rum and diet Coke as a teenager, so it's been a long while to get back in that saddle, though Malibu and Kraken shouldn't really be in the same sentence. |

Almost never. I've had one or two I liked, but I'm a vodka person through and through. |

Inspired by this thread I've gone and got myself a bottle of Ron Zacapa. It isn't cheap, but if you haven't tried it you should. It is very fine. |

I takes me Grog and tiptoes up t' yard arm an does a jig singing me little a dittie {;). Arrr! Rum best served just before the whistle blows to leave the trenches. That is before any task requiring a bit o Dutch, Mates :) |
Huscarle | 01 Apr 2016 9:21 a.m. PST |
It has to be dark rum – my tipple of choice, particularly spiced rum now, but I very rarely overindulge these days, unlike my youth – early middle-age. I dread to think how many bottles I've polished off over the years, and I used to drink one rum per year of age on my birthday – that got messy once or twice |
