Okay, I was looking at computer Wargames that are iPad compatible and: 1) are turn based not real time ( these attract people who stay 24/7/365 with no real life to interfere with "games play"). 2) are single player, not multiple player "Beat up on the new guy" or "pull the new guy into an 'alliance', steal his resources, and betray him" magnets. 3) are combined arms (Horse and Musket to today) games. 4) have no in game resource buying at all (often to be competitive you need to buy widgets to have a chance to win games in addition to decent tactics and strategy.) Are there any such games for my iPad? I begin to think they don't exist… |

If you don't mind scifi, XCOM is available on ipad and despite the scifi widgets, its a great, fun single-player tactical experience. |

Check out Hunted Cow Studios. They have several board type wargames for the iPad. Look at the review of Rebels and Redcoats at grogheads.com/?p=6648 |

I've played several of the Hexwar/Hunted Cow games. There are games that cover the 2nd Punic War, Caesar's rise to power, Alexander the Great, Rebels & Redcoats for the AWI, & a lot of WWII tank battles. I enjoyed them & some of the scenarios are tough to beat. |

Slitherine do lots of that sort of thing. Their Pike & Shot is PC only but there are lots of other games there to browse, many on ipad too. slitherine.com/games/pscamp The old Battle Academy is WW2 turn based almost like tabletop game, solo or multiplayer. (Not tried BA2) |

Slitherine's BA2 is just as good as the original. If focuses on the Russian front. |

Ultimate General Gettysburg. I freakin love this game. You can play either Union or Confederate. Dozens and dozens of scenarios. |
