Calling himself "plastic man" |

Yep. Mr. Editor, I have an idea. Since you have some help, maybe you need to verify each member before allowing them in. Though I am not sure how you would "know" if they are on the up and up until they posted something. I suppose you could moderate their posting as well. Is that something that can be done? |

Shucks. I missed it. Was it as dumb as the others? |

If you can moderate his posts and verify his name etc at least until he's contributed something meaningful. |

Personally, I don't like forums that make you jump through hoops before you can use them. As has already been said, the checks aren't all that useful. Perhaps the best solution is 'rapid response' to an outbreak, as has happened in this case. Winston, don't worry, you missed nothing! |

Perhaps limiting newbies to one, or just a few posts per day, or even better, to keep a newbie from posting the same thing on multiple threads (the latter should be possible, I suspect, and might at least slow the person down a little). Of course, people that are psychopaths will find a way….. |

This iteration had been a member for 17 days. My guess is that this individual has several memberships "stocked up" so that he can do this and then so he can read threads about himself. My advice is to simply delete the photos/posts as soon as they appear and then to not comment on them because this clown wants the attention. Eventually he will tire of this and if he isn't getting the attention, move on. |

I suppose the other thing to see is that the name, "Matthew Drinkwater" is some sort of fashion celebrity. Perhaps a giveaway of sorts. |

Another forum site I visit has had an epidemic of new accounts posting gibberish text and links that no one sane touches. The forum owner does the same as Bill, deleting when it's brought to his attention, but not making things difficult for legitimate new users. |

Perhaps if we just hit the ! and didn't start threads on the subject, or comment on it at all, then whatever thrill he gets out of it would be diminished. |

If you can moderate his posts and verify his name etc at least until he's contributed something meaningful. That will only force them to make "normal" posts for a while. It will delay, not stop, a troll. One troll, for example, has been known to post topics about what figure ranges he should create, or to discuss Ancients, sometimes for a few months before using the account for a troll attack. Also, a troll will often register with a "normal" name, then change names when he makes his troll attack. |

I'm pretty sure, but I didn't see the pics, it's the same loser as before. "It" needs professional help … or be hit by a bus … "It's the only way to be sure … " … |
