I just found out that Fantastic Plastic will be releasing a 1/288 scale version of the "Starduster", which was the principal "hero" rocket ship from the 1962-64 syndicated animated series 'Space Angel'.

Before 'Star Wars' and 'Star Trek' arrived, 'Space Angel' was a series where an imaginative array of spaceships were featured, thanks to the great artistic talent of legendary cartoonist Alex Toth. My first exposure to the cartoon was in the early-'70s on a local UHF tv station, where it was shown every weekday afternoon. After I got home from school, I always made a beeline to the tv to catch every show!

For you younger TMPers, below is a link to a playlist of 'Space Angel' episodes. And yeah, compared to the sci-fi that's been around for the past 40 years, there's no comparison….but to most of us old farts, 'Space Angel' was IT.

At 1/288 scale, there could be some possible wargaming potential! thumbs up

Watched it in the 60s on a local Chicago morning kids show on WGN called Garfield Goose & Friends. There was Space Angel along with his modern day cousin, Clutch Cargo.

Ah, Clutch Cargo – Pulp Fiction at its best.

THANKS! I've been trying to remember the name of this show for years, it freaked me out when I was a kid.

Did anyone see the extras on the "The Incredibles" DVD? They had a cartoon short on there done in the Space Angel animation style and the "Real" Mr Incredible and Frozone were commenting on it, hilarious.

I had long forgotten the name of this show too! Great find. Clutch Cargo used to crack me up too!

I was five this came out. While my parents were ripping each other a new one, I'd be sitting close to the TV happily being somewhere else.
