Hello all,
Indulge me please, I'm about to enter one of my favourite sections of a new army, the planning stage!
Quick background, I've moved to the States from my native UK, it's an adjustment, to be sure, but I'm marrying an amazing girl next weekend, the 2nd, and I'm unbelievably happy, for the first time in countless years. We are currently living in her parents basement, and with one thing and another, I have had no chance to game, or paint anything. So I've been having think about what I am going to start on, when we get settled, and I can scratch my wargaming itch again! Press on, gentle reader.
I have a great love for the original, late eighties, Space Hulk game, brilliant system, great fluff, really tense, tactical games. I bought the two supplements, Deathwing, and ,Genestealer, and devoured all the extra rules and information, loved the card-based psyker rules in Genestealer, bought an extra set of the board sections for each, and cut out the additional ones from early White Dwarf magazines. When I finally chucked these out, I compiled all the campaigns from them, and spiral bound them into a book, to go with the official Space Hulk Campaigns volume. Forgive my extended prose, I'm getting to the point, I promise!
The recent GW revisit of Genestealer hybrids in the new board game has set me thinking, a chance to round in some unpainted lead, and plastic, and assemble a new Space Hulk themed army, a chaos Genestealer hive world coven, where the board/corridor sections represent a hive world tower infestation, to be cleansed by the Emperors finest!
Now, I'm going to keep this as late-eighties retro as possible, so newer 40K'ers may find themselves scratching their heads! Forgive, l plow on…..

In the late eighties, at a party in Nottingham, I was chatting to a leading GW designer, I had painted some stuff for White Dwarf, and next day both with muderous hang-overs, he pressed a box into my hand, with a grunted, 'new stuff, paint them up' they were traitor terminators, but never released, with head, and weapon variants, lovely stuff. I painted a few, and sent them back, but have discovered the rest clearing out for my move. There's enough for three squads (of 7, 7 being Khornes original number, or was it 8?research needed) plus a commander and some super-numeries. Now terminator vs terminator Space Hulk games were always mental fun, so these will form the core of my army. And, in retro Khorne styly, they will be Psykly 'null' ie, no psykic cards will work on them. I'll add in the remaining first edition Genestealers, maybe with some red, black, and Brass colouring on the carapace, maybe just the original, multi pointed chaos star on they're
heads. I'll add in some original plastic hybrids from 'Genestealer' with Khorne colourings. Hmmmmm, I have some original Bloodletters, and found some fan-rules online I liked for using them in 'Hulk' I'll trawl eBay for some more of these, along with some first-ed Chaos hounds of Khorne, and make up some rules for these. I think some original plastic or older metal Imperial guard/army, for subverted planetary defence force, there being rules for using these too. I have the original Genestealer Patriach seated on a throne, and I'll add/convert a chaos commander on another throne, in an uneasy alliance! I'll 'go modern' because I have a Chaos dreadnought thingy from a recent box set (dark future?) that had loadsa miniatures in it, I bought the dread off eBay as it was too lovely a model not to have! I envisage this, chained up as a bodyguard in a space hulk 'throne room' l converted using extra boards sections years ago.
So, there we go! Sorry for rambling on, but it's nice to read it back, and I think it'll make for a suitably chaotic force for my Dark Angels to cleanse!
Thoughts? Musings? Abuse? Feel free!

The number 8 is associated with Khorne.

6 = Slaanesh
7 = Nurgle
8 = Khorne
9 = Tzeentch

Hi

Can we get pictures of the figures. If they were never released they can be worth a lot.

Sounds good. Genestealers and the forces of chaos aren't used as allies enough.

If you have found the "desire" to hide your figures and planned gaming adventures from your inlaws and/or the lovely intended you are in trouble already. If not… and they are proudly on display congratulations are in order. Otherwise, good luck on your marriage, your gaming decision…and of course welcome to America, assuming of course…you know…

I'm not hiding anything from my new 'folks' just not had chance to game Stateside yet, and yes…….. l know! lol!
28mm, back in the mists of GW folklore, i remember projects in White Dwarf showing Genestealers marked with chaos, and that 'canon' enough for me! lol

Nice stuff!
Congrats for next week!
I also have moved over here after marrying a wonderful American lass. Does certainly take a bit of adjusting to at first, but it's a lovely country and the people couldn't be more welcoming.
Where are you?

Spend more time with the love of your life, build solid foundations, visit places- inbetween historical sites, visit a few handbag shops…shoe shopping. Make photobooks, cherish your memories.
😁😀😘😎😝😁

I'm in Richmond, Kentucky, moving to Lexington after we're married, looking at houses now. I sold off most of my armies before I flew over, so it's mostly 'clean sheet' stuff! And I don't play 40k but love space hulk, and that Genestealer coven pic l linked to has stayed with me all these years! And yes, she is the love of my life, and loves my gaming hobby, a deffo keeper!
I just thought, I have an original terminator inquisitor, methinks he needs to come along for the cleansing of the hive!

The musings continue,
What do you reckon to a purestrain 'Stealer, with the Purple parts, (head, hands, etc) a deep Red, and the Blue parts (carapace)in Black, trimmed Brass, for a Khorne look? could be, a very dramatic, or b, bloody stupid! but then again, its all totally made up! hahahahahaha!
I'll do a purestrain, and a hybrid, see what happens!

Maybe a multi-pointed chaos star on the foreheads?

Thank you for your indulgence.

And the Lord spake, saying, First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin.

Then, shalt thou count to eight , no more, no less.

Eight shalt be the number thou shalt
count, and the number of the counting
shalt be eight.

Nine shalt thou not count, nor either count thou seven, excepting that
thou then proceed to eight.

Ten is right out.

Once the number eight, being the eighth number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of
Antioch towards thy foe, who being
naughty in my sight, shall snuf it.

Amen & BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!
