Some pictures of our recent 54mm wargame with my White coated Russians and some Red Guard and other Russian infantry. All the infantry are from the ARTS range. Hope you enjoy.

Do you have a link to the ARTS range?

abc wargamers25 Mar 2016 6:20 a.m. PST

Hi nnascati
I bought these figures from Tony Pope(?) who ran ARTS (Anglo Russian Toy Soldiers) back in 1999-2000 and I have looked on line recently and they don't seem to be trading any more which is a shame as the figures are really nice. Sorry

Ah, too bad. Thanks anyway.

Nice to see 54mm getting so much love! Where did you get the armoured car?

I love it.

Depending when you bought them, there is some serious money in the tank and armored car.

abc wargamers25 Mar 2016 10:19 a.m. PST

I bought the armoured car ready painted – which runs very smoothly on its wheels – at the Toy Soldier Show in London back in 1999-2000 along with the Renault tank as a plain casting. I can't remember the name. Sorry.

I thought the other vehicles were heavy but the other Renault tank with '77' painted on it is truly heavy and odd as it is a 3 piece casting. The turret comes off, and the body also comes off of the tracks which are spanned by 2 lengths of 'wire'. If anyone can identify them I would be pleased to hear from you.

Well at least it's not the King & Country Renault! I have the same Renault, but I bought it painted. It could be by the Toy Army Workshop.

Hi Cyrus
Had a look at the Toy Army Workshop not theirs either. Anyone else got any ideas?

Good looking game. Those are very nice figures.

Gone Fishing26 Mar 2016 9:32 a.m. PST

They all look smashing. There really is nothing like 54's!

Cyrus the Great27 Mar 2016 11:20 p.m. PST

I checked the Renault, it's by 'Soldiers by Bob'.

abc wargamers28 Mar 2016 2:45 a.m. PST

Hi Cyrus

Many thanks, do you have a link/web address? Tried typing in 'Soldiers by Bob' and get Bob Marley's Buffalo Soldiers good song but nothing about tanks in it!

It seems that he was never a retailer, but that other dealers sold his work. If I would've had a business card from him, I would've put it in the box it came in, but there wasn't any. Or it could be this business, though there are no Renault tanks I could find now.
