I have ten book from the series titled 'Armies and Enemies of…' I am planning to sale these as a single offering at the next convention that I attend which will be Recon at Orlando and then Nashcon in May. They have no broken spines or missing pages and I do not think any have been written in either. The titles are: Ancient Near East (this is the only one that is hardback) Greek and Persian Wars ( in my opinion the roughest one) Macedonian and Punic and Imperial Rome Feudal Europe ( this is the four man shield wall cover and not the green cover) Dark Ages Crusades China Middle Ages: Western Europe (volume 1) Middle Ages: Eastern Europe Volume 2 So breaking of the arm has proven very expensive. It seems to be worse than when I had open heart surgery. Some of these were expensive when I got them in the late 1970s to early 1980s. What would you recommend for me to price this group at? Thanks for the help. |

Personally would not sell them as a group. Prices can vary, but can get silly – a search of the titles on ebay is very interesting. People are asking anything from £20.00 GBP-50 each. |

The problem with selling them as a group is that most people interested in the era will likely already have some of them and may not want to double up. Ancient Near East at least is probably worth selling by itself: Amazon has used copies starting at $100 USD, so you might get a good price for it at a show. |

You are greatly limiting your market selling them as a group; I advise against it. |

Agreed, break them up. If they are in good shape, I think $40 USD each is not unreasonable. Some may be more rare, others less, but I'm not familiar enough to say. |

The only people likely to purchase the group are dealers and they will not offer top dollar, as they will looking to maximise their own profit margins. I have several of the titles you mention, paid between £12.00 GBP and £25.00 GBP I think the best advice is to look on several book selling sites and Ebay and Amazon to get a feel for the going rate. |

Thanks for the input. Breaking them up seems to be the way to go. |

One thing to note is which edition of each that you have. Armies and Enemies of Imperial Rome had 4. Some significant revisions were made between the 1st and 4th. Buyer might want to know how current the copy is. |

I noticed that I had two different books on the Roman imperial. I will check edition. |

Rudy; sit on the idea of selling them for a while, remember how hard it was to get this type of information before "WRG" started to print them. Myself I'll never sell any of these Books, great collector's items. |

The armies and enemies series is being reprinted by WRG. New editions can be found at LULU. Price for latest edition is about $35 USD for soft cover. |
