Hi Codsticker That was the original plan but was lost in translation with the sculptor. I then thought he looked like he was prepared to defend him self as he ran into action or was going to cut a horse free from a hedge or barricade. But as you say it may look better with spanner I can not make my mind up, I'll wait and see where the project gets to with funding first.
