Are you the person who keeps the dice from every game he has ever bought?

Mike Mayes18 Mar 2016 7:56 p.m. PST

As opposed to doing what with them?

Rich Bliss18 Mar 2016 8:01 p.m. PST

Yes. I probably have 500+ dice n a jar.

Mako1118 Mar 2016 8:31 p.m. PST

Well, I don't throw them out.

I usually try to keep them with the games, and I have extras, but you can never have too many dice.

Pictors Studio18 Mar 2016 8:43 p.m. PST

I try to keep some dice in every room in the house just in case.

I especially love my old Yaquinto board game dice, right size for rolling..SPI dice to small.

79thPA Supporting Member of TMP18 Mar 2016 8:59 p.m. PST

Why wouldn't you keep them?

My mattress is stuffed with discarded dice. I sleep uneasily but dream of '6s'.

So the consensus is that the majority of gamers are stuck in their cubistic period.

Meiczyslaw18 Mar 2016 11:11 p.m. PST

I have so many dice that I have an alphabet die and two seven-sided dice on my desk right now.

Though I did unload a bunch of extra "normal" dice when I moved. I didn't think I needed more than 20 RPG dice sets.

(I probably have more d10s than anybody I know, though.)

I personally prefer players to use a set of dice that are clear and all the same so i can see clearly what is happening. I don't like the "hang on I need to find my lucky brown D6 for this roll" or "i am just going to change my dice to a a luckier batch". The other annoying ones are those old average dice when the numbers have rubbed off. I notice now that singular is "dice". A good progression that will probably cause some upset. I am quite happy with language evolution be-gads!

I tend to keep them…just in case.

Mute Bystander19 Mar 2016 6:39 a.m. PST

I thought "die" was the singular.

Mute Bystander19 Mar 2016 6:40 a.m. PST

Old dice never die they just fade away?

No. I am a person who keeps the dice from every game he has ever bought.

Ditto

and if they came with a game then still with that game!

martin goddard Sponsoring Member of TMP19 Mar 2016 10:34 a.m. PST

Dice is now the singular too.

Grelber19 Mar 2016 10:40 a.m. PST

I tend to keep dice with the game they came with, however, loose dice that turn up around the house do gravitate to my dice bag.

Yes! To collect dice is another hobby along with wargaming!

Of course I keep the dice from games I have bought. Why throw them away when I might need them someday ?

Silvius Maximus19 Mar 2016 1:30 p.m. PST

I normally leave them with the game, but, since I'm a collector too, keep them listed with the other ones. Never get short of dice, never! Actually ove more than 1000, of wich at least 760 different ones.

Winston Smith19 Mar 2016 2:22 p.m. PST

I used to have tons of board games. If I sold the game, the dice went with them.
For my dice collection, I bought as many as I need. That's about 300 D6, 60 D20….. I don't do anything special with them. No velvet bags. Just moth proof cedar cigar boxes.

Yes

Chuckaroobob20 Mar 2016 7:44 a.m. PST

Yes, all my board games still have the original die (dice) in them. And I own a thousand or two more for mini games. One of my buds sold his extra dice at the HMGS cons and got about $500 USD for them.

Mattw338530 Mar 2016 10:56 p.m. PST

Yes, I'm a recovering dice hoarder. I hate sharing dice with people when playing a game. So I have a bunch so everybody can have their own when playing. The problem with having alot of dice is picking out which ones to use.

Dice is now the singular too.
Irregardless, I could care less.
