I may be putting on eBay a bunch of stuff bought in an estate sale of a reenactor. This would include a sword or two, maybe some daggers. Yes. THAT kind of reenactor. Is it legal to ship such things through the mail or UPS? Are any special ….. thingies required? |

It is legal through UPS at least. The UPS store had a tube that they use to ship golf clubs in and they used that when I shipped one (it was a repro Union Officer's sword). Since they packed it they knew what it was. |

Well, they sell them via mail order, so……. Of course, they may still be verboten in the UK, so I guess it depends upon where you are shipping it to. UPS would be the safe bet, and probably the less expensive option. You could call your local UPS Store and ask them about any policies, or restrictions. |

Yes, it is legal here in the U.S. I have purchased several Batoh Shinken (live battle katana) for Iaijutsu. As for other countries…I have no idea. |

Many companies sell and ship replica swords in the US… |

If you're inquiring, ask if you can ship crossbows into Italy as well, while you're at it. Inquiring minds want to know if the ban is still in place there. |

Yeah, I got my rapiers through the mail. Can't remember which company, though. (US resident.) |

I ship guns through USPS so a sword would be no problem at all. |

Note…The UPS Store will NOT ship black powder (muskets) etc…Even though they claim to be "The UPS store" they are NOT UPS…they will actually tell you to go TO the UPS location to have it shipped. And don't ask them for street directions on how to get there…they won't have that. |
