Trigger warnings: sarcasm ahead – read at your peril.

Im using the term "unbased" to mean unfinished here.

Now on with the query: I've done it on numerous occasions, but should folks resist the urge to share pics of a "finished" figure or unit that doesn't have the base completed (unflocked, unlandscaped, unpainted)?

Not those looking for advice, but the finished ones.

What do I care? I don't particularly, but I do feel a flash of disappointment when I see it. Above all, the way you share your gaming product should protect my feelings, right?

I only recently started using anything other than simple painted bases. TMP has no "safe spaces" and neither should it. grin Better on the game table in a simple state than on the paint table in unfinished but pristine art major appearance.

If it would take you one more day to finish the bases before you post pictures of it, why not take the time?

If you are just looking at the figure what does it matter if the base is just painted ?

Aren't some of the posted figures painted for friends or clients who base them themselves?

People can show what they like … Me? Well unless it makes some point about the figure or the painting convention or basing or whatever, I have little interest in unfinished soldiers …

But people can post whatever they like, of course …

My bases consist of a dyed textured base in a single colour. They are wargames figures.

I have to say this is not something I have ever even thought or worried about.

Of course, photographing against a plain background would make them easier to see.

I pretty much only use flat black bases. Are mine all finished or unfinished?
