We're running our first BravoGo!Go! What's a BravoGoGo? Why, didn't you know..?

This is our take on the KS/IndieGoGo crowdfunding model.

We have our first two W79 packs (British Army and Paramilitaries) out already and these are being well received by the early adopters. Expansions on these are planned and sculpting is already in progress. So far so normal.

But we'd like to release more, so this is where you can come in. Our BravoGo!Go! idea is simply a pre-order scheme that lets you grab a bargain whilst letting us commission some great new figures. We'll also throw in a specially commissioned free figure…

What we have to date:

W79 British Infantry

W79 Paramilitaries

What the BravoGo!Go! has on offer:

  1. Army to section strength with Platoon command options. (Pre-Funded)
  2. Additional paramilitaries with armalites & support weapons (Pre-Funded)
  3. Two female paramilitaries **100% FUNDED**
  4. Two Plain clothed detectives **100% FUNDED**
  5. Six Armed Police **25% Funded**
  6. Eight Armed Civilians (post punk aesthetic)
  7. Four Army with M16s for COPs/SAS.

The scheme has been running for a couple of weeks for those in the know via the W79 Facebook Group. A dozen or so intrepid backers have helped us to hit the 25% funding mark, meaning the female paramilitaries, plain clothed detectives and a couple of the armed police are fully funded and sculpting has kicked off.

The discounted pre-order scheme will run roughly to the end of March.

Did I mention the free figure?

Very nice. Bit of a Spitting Image vibe there with the MT miniature. I see Reiver Castings also do a Maggie Thatcher and an Arthur Scargill. So you can do handbag vs comb over fights!

I have been wanting a group of the Bhoys for about 10 years, I'll be in!

The Bhoys? We clearly have different ideas on what constitutes wargaming.

Ahh, you're American…

Yup, dualer, we clearly do. Enjoy your games, I'll enjoy mine.

Oh god do they still romanticise the Troubles in the States?

I thought the US stance on terrorism had changed since 2001?

It's hard to shake the cultural love affair with "rebels", willlucv.

Fergal17 Mar 2016 6:53 p.m. PST

Thanks for the offer of an Internet fight over figures for a fictional conflict, but I'll pass.

Obvious troll, shouldn't have bitten.

Back on topic, nice figures I especially like the Thatcher mini. Any chance of some more early 80s icons? Rick aka The Peoples Poet and the rest of the Young Ones would be a must have for this setting in my opinion.

Now that is a good idea…

W79 BravoGoGo Update: First new sculpts

So proving the concept kind of works, the following two new sculpts are the first funded figures to come off the workbench:

These will be supplied either as shown, or with balaclavas (which will be identical save that we will sculpt on a balaclava, and maybe a different pistol for variety)

NB – depending on funds at the end of the campaign, we may do bareheaded variants for all of the paramilitaries, or at the very least offer heads for DIY conversions.

Any chance of a Citizen Smith for those wanting to fight for a free Tooting?!

Mike Bravo Miniatures19 Mar 2016 1:43 p.m. PST

I think Caliver may be covering him with their civvies.

Royston Papworth20 Mar 2016 7:34 a.m. PST

Very nice figures.

Aren't the Caliver ones 20mm?

Just a nudge that this pre-order scheme has been slightly extended but will expire next Sunday (3 April) which will be the last chance to get the deep discount before we shift focus to the next project whilst waiting for sculpting to be finished.

Photos of the sculpted armed detectives will follow as soon as I have them (sculptor is applying the final touches).
