A big thanks to all who came by the Eagles of Empie trade booth at Tactica two weeks ago, and to all of you who placed orders on the newly opened webshop.

This week on the blog, I'm posting pics of the 16 Bavarian Infantry minis in the Eagles of Empire boxed set.

There's that juxtaposition again. Which one's right?

I'm going for the colour in the painting. Went to the Invalides Museum in Paris a few weeks ago and the Bavarian uniform there on display was almost exactly that colour. Actually a light blueish grey with a slight greenish tinge. It was/is labelled 'chasseur' and had (still relatively vivid)green collar and cuffs.

I really don't think that the colour depicted on the box art as the painting guide could have faded that much in any reasonable time to become the one I saw.

Interesting,WillieB. Wonder how far back that goes? I may have to rethink my WSS.

I went to the Bavarian Army Museum in Ingolstadt many years ago and the painting is closer to the uniform they had on display than the cornflower blue usually seen on the war games table. Very much a green tint to the blue.

Chanzy,

Is there a way to just get one pose variation of figures for a unit. I prefer the figures in my units to be of one similar pose (i.e. all advancing or all firing)? Any thought of selling unit boxes that just have one pose in it instead of having firing and advancing poses mixed together?

Also do you have any one representing your company at any of the US conventions (such as Cold Wars next week)?

I've got an awful lot of Foundry Bavarians and it has always bothered my (a bit) that the officers had the same sized plume as the men-I need worry no longer.!

Thank you all very much for the kind comments!
The range has received an amazing backing from fans all over, and we're currently working on Wave II and III.

To answer your question – we are not able to supply only one posed packages.
And, I agree, that the Bavarian uniform I saw at Les Invalides in Paris 2015 looks closer to the Litography version above – so light blue with a slight tint of green/grey.

The illustration is made by the very talented French artist Manu, but should not be recognized as a painting guide as such.

Thank you all again for your support – more will come soon!

Been painting these as part of a commission. I went with the lighter blue rather than the dark shown. Also these figures are a joy to paint.SO far I have done Prussian, French , and the Bavarian . Great sculpts!
