Whilst there are probably insufficient Danes, Finns, Norwegians et al to support separate boards, it would be beneficial to provide a forum to discuss gaming in Nordic states other than just Sweden. So the suggestion is to change 'Wargaming in Sweden' to 'Wargaming in the Nordic States'. |

Thumbs up from this swede. |
Weasel | 11 Mar 2016 4:44 p.m. PST |
Support that as a displaced Dane. We could call it the Kalmar Union :) |
Grelber | 11 Mar 2016 10:24 p.m. PST |
Perhaps some of the other boards should be rationalized: for instance, the Wargaming in Belgium and the Netherlands Board could be expanded to include Luxembourg (no, really, there are six members from Luxembourg, four of them active). Grelber |

…Meanwhile, in the dis-United Kingdom, we could have separate boards for England, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland; perhaps the Home Counties, and (if they count) the Away Counties. |

I agree with this proposal, |

Would post or read myself but why not? |

IIRC, people have asked Finnish related stuff in the Sweden Message Board, therefore I agree. |

Thanks for the support guys. Now how does one go about setting up a poll? |

Bill puts up a poll some time in the future… |

I would support it, we had a Danish king or two in the past? And soon you will have one again, the long ships are amassing. This time armed with sea sparrow missiles and bofors 40mm auto canons, the vikings are wearing plate carriers, armed with HK 416s and supported by Leopard 2 tanks! |

If we combine our forces, we'll have Swedish heavy metal bands, Norwegian oil and Danish beer and pork. How could we lose? |

According to Wikipedia: The Nordic countries are a geographical and cultural region in Northern Europe and the North Atlantic, where it is most commonly known as Norden. It consists of five countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) as well as their autonomous regions (the Åland Islands, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland). |

At at verious times Scotland and Estonia wants to be nordic countires! |
DWilliams | 14 Mar 2016 8:57 a.m. PST |
I support this change. There are over 9 million Swedes, which makes this the largest Nordic state. On the other hand, if you add up the populations of Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway, they outnumber the Swedes 3-to-1. |
janner | 14 Mar 2016 11:46 a.m. PST |
Yes, that's why I thought Nordic more appropriate than Scandinavian, Bill, especially as the longhaired gemeral is a Finn Thanks for the support, chaps. In these days of parochialism, you are a beacon of brotherhood – both native born Nordics and blow-ins such as myself |

Nordic STATES. I immediately thought of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa. |

Great idea. Where I sit, in Stockholm, it would be quicker and easier to get to RopeCon in Helsinki or DFFCon in Copenhagen than to GothCon in Gothenburg, an still that is the only show we regularly attend. With a Nordic board we could inform each other of such events. |

It's a trap! This is the rest of the Wargaming World's fate if the Norse reunite! link |
Gunfreak | 19 May 2016 2:45 a.m. PST |
Thats totaly unrealstic, vikings never used those weapons, warhammers and renesanse axe! What is this? a Mel Gibson viking movie! |

A furore Normannorum libera nos, Domine, ("From the fury of the Northmen deliver us, O Lord.") Quick, hide the gold, hide the women, hide the sheep! (although last time, we _did_ benefit from the flock's increase afterward, and the lambs had such cute blonde hair!) |

'Wargaming in the Nordic States' sounds good to me. And we could even let Scotland join, when they leave the UK in order to stay in the EU. |
Aquahog | 08 Sep 2016 10:32 a.m. PST |
DWilliams, the combined population of the Nordic region minus Sweden is around 16 million. |
ArchdukeOfSoderort | 08 May 2017 1:44 a.m. PST |
Hi! Totally new to the Hobby except some Warhammer FB in my early teens. Are there any good nordic miniature shops for historical miniatures? Also are there any organizations in Sweden/Stockholm that I could join? :) |
ArchdukeOfSoderort | 08 May 2017 1:45 a.m. PST |
With nordic miniatures shops i mean online shops that ship for free or cheap to Sweden. :) |
