The eponymous great commander was painted by Tilman of LAF and his companions by Redzed. All of the minis are Aveentines. The basing system is my own, there's more about the unit and basing on my blog: link

Cheers, Simon

Appropriately mental!

Excellent!

I am doing more or less the same with my ancient miniatures.
I have enough single based miniatures per unit to put them in wedge or line.

I got a book back in college from the Ares Press. it was on the Macedonian Successor Generals. After reading all of the chapters, I preferred Pyhrrus to most.

Simon, you should do a photo tutorial too. Your photos enhance your already outstanding units.

LOL, I'm not much of a cameraman. That's taken on my phone in natural daylight. I use a lighting tent, though which really helps.

JJartist12 Mar 2016 1:41 p.m. PST

These look great.. someday I want to get my Aventine's done!

Simon, you should do a photo tutorial about using a phone in natural daylight and a lighting tent. Your photos enhance your already outstanding units.

All that and a standard that looks like a pint of beer – lovely!

I agree with Big Red – a tutorial on your photography techniques would be quite helpful to me Simon.
