I do remember something on the old Mighty Armies forum about, yes they are the same for now. But were going to have potential elemental effects added on at some point. (example: fireball vs flammable creatures) I guess that has yet to go anywhere as that was quite some years ago.

The two are exactly the same in game effect. You would have to ask the guys at Mongoose why they put two of the same spell in the game.

Rebel Mike kept it that way for flavor.

We use Lightning as direct fire and fireball as indirect fire.. Mostly thematic, but the fireball
Does have the advantage of shooting over terrain where da the bolt shots right from the unit base. It's still a WIP on actual costs and effect…
