Why are wargamers allergic to putting ground scales on their maps?

I like it.

Thanks for sharing.

Perhaps, this way, it's perfect for TY, which doesn't have a consistent scale either, so you can use the map for setting up operational moves, or tactical battles, as you see fit.

Is was a different age…

Really thinking the same thing. I'll work on a gridded version.

Saber6, where'd you find that thing? I looked at the 79 date and Wargamer's Digest and sure smiled from some great memories. Compared to his usual Battle Stations maps, this is a lot larger in scale.

Great find and thanks!

Saber6, where'd you find that thing? I saw the 79 date and Wargamer's Digest on the link and it sure brought back some great memories. That map is a lot larger in scope than the old Battle Station maps in each issue.

Thanks for a great find and bringing back some memories with a smile.

Its Fulda Gap. The Warpact thrust was expected between Eiterfeld and Rasdorf (just off the lower right corner of the map).

North and east of Fulda, is that the renowned Fulda Gap?

Its the Fulda Gap area. The main Warpact thrust was expected between Eiterfeld and Rasdorf (just off the lower right corner of the map).

Saber 6, where'd you find that thing? Saw the '79 date and Wargamer's Digest on the link and smiled at the thought of some great memories. Map was a larger scope than McCoy's Battle Station maps in each month's tactical problem.
Those were marked off in grids.

Thanks for posting the find and bringing back some pleasant memories.

PS. tried to post this twice in the past two days and it never showed.

Did the forums revert to an earlier version?

I could have sworn I'd asked if this was a map of the renowned Fulda Gap…
