Waterloo! Perhaps the most famous battle in history! What gamer hasn't dreamed of refighting that epic engagement with huge masses of colorful miniatures? But usually that dream has to remain a dream. The cost of buying the miniatures and the enormous expenditure of effort in painting them has daunted many.

No longer!

PaperTerrain is proud to release its new sets of paper Napoleonic armies from the 1815 Waterloo Campaign! There are three sets, one each for the French, Prussian, and Anglo-Allied Armies. Every battalion, regiment, brigade, division and corps is represented, almost 30,000 miniatures in all, and at a tiny fraction of the cost of metal figures!

Every miniature is printed in vivid full color with all the details of the elaborate uniforms and flags of the time meticulously researched and reproduced in 10mm scale. From the legendary ranks of Napoleon's Old Guard, to the humble Landwehr infantry of the Prussian Army; the glittering masses of the Cuirassiers to the plaid-kilted Highlanders; the mighty French 12-pounders and the dashing British Horse Artillery, they are all here! Assembly is quick and easy. In a modest amount of time you can have your armies ready to refight Quatre Bras, Ligny, Wavre and, of course, Waterloo!

The sets are designed for use with Sam Mustafa's marvelous rules set "Blucher", but they will work just as well with many other rules sets, too.

You can buy these sets either as hardcopy print-outs on sturdy cardstock which will be mailed to you. Or as PDF downloads which you can then print out yourself.

All the kits come with a good number of extra miniatures beyond what is needed for the historical Order of Battle. This gives you spares in case you make errors during assembly, or extra troops in case you want to experiment with different formations.

These are available now from PaperTerrain!

Very interesting. What scale or size are the graphics?

They scale to about 10mm. I wanted to portray large masses of troops, but at 6mm too much of the detail was lost. 10mm seems to be the best compromise between numbers and detail. I didn't think anyone would ever try mixing these with metal miniatures, so the exact scale really isn't that important. They work well with 6mm terrain

I'm leaving for Cold Wars! I'll have all three armies on full display (and for sale!). Stop by the PaperTerrain booth and say hello and have a look!
