I've been reading the blog at precinctomega.co.uk/wp and while it looks fun, it does look super generic. I've heard people muse that HW will be a good replacement for Battletech, etc. One thing about Battletech, though, was that weapons are all different. Part of this is cool, and part of it bogs everything down, but what I'm really wondering is, HOW are people going to convert their stuff? He says a Firepower 7 is the top of "normal", though it goes up to 10. I'm wondering if using the Alphastrike method of calculating the damage a mech does and diving by 10 would give a good number? Sorry, just wondering about stuff I have no control over way before the game is released :P |

I looked at some of the HW rules and was, personally, not impressed. It might be an excellent game but I prefer more detail and variation in my weapons and how they are used. Luckily I'm starting to playtest my own system with a similar premise. Allowing people to use and convert from any other system. |

I got my set of rules yesterday. SO far it looks good. I'll have to get in a game or two before passing judgement. but it justs might be the rules I was looking for. |

They feel made for Robo Tech, I like Infantry and Tanks too much for these. Also feel Infantry will always be viable as they are easy to hide, and can be quite hard to root out. |

Currently my favorite rules set. Just love the way Combined arms works. Robby has put some serious thought into this game. Hvy Dug in infantry are a pain!! link
