I found this picture of recents operations near Mosul and thought it might be fun to paint up some modern Iragi's.

Does anyone make figures like this in 15mm. Modern helmets and piece meal body armor with M16's.

There is no apostrophe in "Iraqis"

Well we have to give them "hand me downs" … They would just break or lose the Good stuff ! laugh

Now now L4;) just love how different cultures handle weapons, these guys seem to almost have them grafted on. Nice pic.

Unfortunately nothing that I'm aware of now. But some of the modern Russian ranges could be close enough. Check out Pico Armor. Some of their O8 figures could fit the bill.

Is that vehicle covered in cardboard?

Well I'm still a little upset when it was reported, the Iraqis abandoned 42 M1s, 52 M109 155mm SPFA and 2300 HMMWVs to Deash ! huh?

Legion4, you'd think that they would have fitted vehicle immobilisers before handing them down. You know like you see on the Cop Shows where they use a car as a bait car for the crims to steal and then shut the vehicle down with the crims locked inside.

@Winston, thanks. I "dont" care.
@Terrement, thank you for pointing out my mistake in typing

@Tgunner, thank you for an actual helpful post

It certainly is a colorful lot and by our standards looks a bit rag tag but I have to give them credit for trying and they look a hell of a lot more professional than some of the Shia militiamen.

L4 With you brother, a stick + penknife (to sharpen said stick) would have been my absolute commitment to rearming and training anyone other than my fellow countrymen. Rome got 'hollowed out' by doing just the same thing.
Again bet a lot of that NATO ammo gets to say hello to the sky with this lot ;)

That might cost too much ! LOL !

It would seem with all the former US/NATO equipment, etc., being used by Daesh … we were one of their best indirect suppliers ! laugh

Plus for some reason, many in the region think firing blindly up in the sky for anything that moves them is questionable, etc. at best ? Seems like a waste of ammo and ignoring all the training given to many of them. Which also appears to be another waste …

Someone could make decent money from "piecemeal" figures like this. A mix of all kinds of helmets, rifles and gear.

US helmet with FN FAL, Soviet steel pot with M16 etc.

I think QRF has a few along those lines.
